Swimming is a superb way to build your fitness and stamina and will enhance any other sports you do, plus lead to a healthy life style; and lots of fun is to be had in competitive swimming. We aim to help all swimmers fulfil their competitive potential and to retain our status as the best swimming club in the area.
We regularly have swimmers competing at the Eastern Regional Swimming Championships and in excess of 50 swimmers competing in the Hertfordshire County Age Group Championships. Our aim is to increase the number of swimmers competing in these competitions. We can do this by offering swimmers up to 10.5 hours of pool training time per week including two hours long course training in a 50m pool. Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club are active participants in the Dacorum Borough Swim Squad that is a training squad made up of several clubs in the area, swimmer membership is by invitation only, swimmers who take part in this squad can swim an additional 2 hours per week as well as a 1 hour land training session. In addition, swimmers are encouraged to do land training once a week to improve their overall fitness. Land training is on Monday evenings during term time, from 7.00-8.00pm at Hobbs Hill Wood Primary School, Peascroft Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 8ER.
