Club records Update

Club records are falling fast with the swimming season well and truly underway.  New records have been set at the recent Maxwell Open, the first round of Herts Major League as well as the first two rounds of our own Club Champs.

Maxwell saw Megan Pirrie take Freya Mayhew's record in the 10 year girls' 100m breastroke in a time of 1.42.11.  Pirrie went on to claim the 200m IM record from Paige Wilding at the Middle Distance Club Champs in a time of 3.08.90.

Hannah Bagley's 100m breaststroke in the Herts Major League beat Kelsey Doyle's 12 years' record with a new time of 1.25.64.

Kelsey Doyle, however, came back with a massive PB in her 200m IM at the Club Champs to claim Vickie Fisher's previous 13 year-old's record with a new time of 2.39.78.

Not to be missed out of the record books, Vickie claimed two backstroke records at Maxwell, both previously belonging to Katie McLaren.  She took the 14 girls' record in the 50m backstroke with a 32.59 and the 100m with a 1.11.79.

Thushi Kumerage is busy working his way through the 9 year-old's records.  He took Louis Mayhew's 100m IM record at Maxwell in a time of 1.29.85 and Freddie Woodcock's 200m IM record with a 3.08.05 at the same meet.

Kyle Holmes wasn't content to leave his own 10 year-old's 50m breaststroke standing, going almost a whole second faster at Maxwell in a new time of 42.30.

Tom Sherriff's magnificent 200m IM swim at the Club Champs saw him breaking Paul Mackie's 2007 record in the 14 years' 200m IM in a time of 2.31.03.

Dave Pirrie broke his own 200m Masters record in a time of 2.33.08 whilst, last but not least, Kevin McKenna put in a record breaking performance in his 200m IM in the Masters category at the Club Champs.  He is tipped to break another record in the 200m backstroke at the concluding round of the champs this coming weekend.  Another update will follow then, along with a full report on the winners and record-breakers from all three rounds.
