On Saturday 14th April 2012 Hemel Swimming Club travelled to Dunstable for round 3 of the Chiltern League Swimming Competition.  During the course of the meet Hemel swimmers achieved 37 Personal Best Times and a number of ‘speeding tickets’ for too-fast times.

The evening started well with a PB for Chloe Ware in the Ladies’ Open 100m Freestyle.  This was followed by a number of individual race PBs from Jessica Hubbard, Kate Rowe, Ajay Gill, Elliot Hutchings, Maisie Vincent (who PB’d in 2 events), Samuel Hutchings (who also achieved 2 PBs), Adam Sawyer , Emily Keenan, Ben Hubbard, Lauren Herlock, Sharone Kallinga, plus a two second PB from the evergreen Mark Ayres in the Mens’ Open 100m Breaststroke.

As this was a time banded gala a number of individual wins were achieved by Chloe Ware, Elliot Hutchings, Maisie Vincent, Melissa Brandon, Igor Kaspin, Adam Daniell and  Ajay Gill.

Hemel relay teams won 7 of the 16 relay events on the night:  swim of the night in the relays coming from 11 year old Samuel Hutchings who led off the 4x 50m Mens’ Open Freestyle relay and set his (slightly!) older teammates on the way to a first place finish.

Hemel team won first place on the night and Swimmers of the Gala were Jessica Hubbard and Samuel Hutchings.
