A strong second weekend for the five Hemel Hempstead swimmers at the East Region BAGCAT Championships at Norwich.

Ben Garratt had a strong weekend reaching three finals in the 200m FC (6th), 100m Fly (5th) and finishing the weekend with the greulling 200m Fly (7th) those races combined with the 200m IM (13th) gave him 8th position in the overall BAGCAT championships for 13 year old boys.

Megan Pirrie built on her strong first weekend with 5th in the 400 IM, 13th in 200 Breaststroke and 11th in the 100 Breaststroke, Megan ended up 12th overall of the 59 13 year old girls in the BAGCAT Championships.

Aimee Abrey competed in her favoured Backstroke events finishing 24th in the 100 Backstroke and 19th in the 200 Backstroke

Grace Rayner one of our Breaststroke specialists finished 14th in the 200m event and 18th in the 100m event.

Our four girls Aimee Abrey, Megan Pirrie, Grace Rayner and Emily Jelfs competed in the girls 4 x 100m Freestyle doing themselves proud with an overall finish in 13th place.

We should also mention Joshua Gaines who qualified to swim in the 100 Backstroke but due to family commitments was unable to compete.
