A group of 7 Masters and Senior swimmers travelled to Sheffield on 25th – 27th October to compete in the National Masters and Senior Age Group (18-24) Swimming Championships.

The team produced some great performances and many Personal Best Times, leading the way was Annette Thatcher (61) who won Gold in the 50m Freestyle and no less than 5 Silver medals in the 100m Individual Medley, 50 and 100m Breaststroke, 100m Freestyle and the 50m Backstroke, many of Annette’s swims would have won medals in younger age groups.

Jo Lee-Pearce (37) a former National Swimmer performed brilliantly despite nursing a shoulder injury just missing the medals with a 4th place in the 200m Backstroke, she followed that up with top 6 placings in the 200m Individual medley and 100m Backstroke, she also produced top 10 finishes in the 100m Individual medley and 50m Breaststroke.

Rachel Barber (24) was making her debut at this level producing a top 10 finishe in the 50m Breaststroke as well as the 50m Backstroke, she also competed in the 50m Fly (17th) and 100m Freestyle (23rd).
