Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club Score well at the Dacorum Sports Awards

Friday 29th November the prestigious Dacorum Sports Awards held at Sportspace Berkhamsted with Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club in their centenary year being nominated for three awards:
  •  U21 Coach of the Year – Kira Doyle
  •  Volunteer of the Year – Louise Farrow
  •  Club of the Year – Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club
Kira took the award for Under 21 Coach of the Year in a category where she faced some tough competition from a number of very committed young people, it is good to see such an award being given as it highlights that the sports community in general has many great young people coming through their sports.

Louise Farrow won the volunteer of the year award, this is great testament to the time she gives to the swimming club organising the many events that occur throughout the year, however in her very modest style Louise insisted that the award was recognition of the many volunteers within the club that are involved in coaching, organisation, administration, officials and the other myriad of people that help keep the club running smoothly.

In the Club of the Year award the Club narrowly missed out to Hemel Town FC who have had a sensational year.
