Saturday 30th November saw the Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club Masters Team compete in the once a year Hertfordshire Senior League at Bishop’s Stortford School. The team is made up of swimmers ranging from 25 years old to over 60 years old.

The Senior league brings the best Masters teams from all across Hertfordshire to compete in a team based gala that includes individual and relay events across all the Masters age groups, there was some fierce competition on the night with Hemel Hempstead finishing 4th out of 9 teams entered.

In particular the Ladies Relay Teams did very well with the 35+ 4 x 25m Freestyle, 25+ 4 x 25m Medley, and 35+ 4 x 25m Medley teams all taking victory, well done to the ladies who made up those teams – Annette Thatcher, Olga Powell, Anna Belsey, Pam Ware, Jo Lee-Pearce, Rachel Barber, Bev McKenna and Pam Ware.

Members of the team from Hemel Hempstead also included James McFarlane, Mark Ayres, Tim Wilson, Phil Isles, Dave Windsor and Tony Gaines.

Mark Ayres not only competed but took on the role of Team Manager.
