The final day of the Herts County Championship saw 9 more gold medals for Charlie Rayner (3), Holly Robinson (2), Freddie Woodcock (2), Josh Gaines (1) and Georgia Purkis (1) and 17 other top 3 placings.

There were golds for Charlie Rayner in the 400 free with a 12 second PB, the 100 fly and the 100 free. Holly Robinson (9) rounded off her outstanding first appearance at Counties with golds in the 50 breast and 100 IM with 3 second and 9 second PBs respectively. Georgia Purkis (12) took gold in the 100 breast and silver in the 50 breast, both in new Regional qualifying times, adding a third Regional time in the 200 IM. Freddie Woodcock (18) took first place in the 50 and 200 back and was second in the 100 free. Josh Gaines took gold in the 200 back in his age-group and came third in the open competition.

Tom Sherriff (19) took second place in the 50 back, 100 fly, 100 free and 400 free age-group competitions. A powerful swim in the 400 free saw him post an 8 second PB and obtain a new Regional qualifying time. Tom also secured third place in the open 100 free. There were silvers for Aimee Abrey (16) in the 200 IM and Rob Jennings (17) in his 100 fly.

Grace Rayner (16) and Paige Wilding (16) took silver and bronze respectively in both their 50 and 100 breaststroke competitions. Both girls progressed to the open final of the 50 breast where Grace won bronze. Paige’s 100 breast was a new Regional qualifying time; she also took bronze in the 200 IM. Finally Max Jelfs took bronze in the 400 free with a 5 second PB.

A 9 second PB in the 200 back saw Jonny Farrow (13) secure his second Regional qualifying time of the weekend whilst in the same event Luke Pestaille (11) set a 9 second PB and Sam Ward (11) an 8 second PB. Ashley Coombs had two excellent swims setting a 10 second PB in the 400 free and a 2 second PB in the 50 back that was agonizingly close to the Regional qualifying time. There were also excellent improvements posted by Milly Anderton (10) with a 5 second PB in the 100 IM, Cameron Clark (13) with a 4 second PB in the 400 free, Joe Coldwell (12) with a 3 second PB in the 50 back, Libby Grant (9) with a 4 second PB in the 100 IM, Shona McKenna (13) with a 4 second PB in the 200 IM and Harrison Newbury-Kemp (14) with a 9 second PB in the 400 free.
