Twelve swimmers entered the very fast long course Guildford Level 1 meet at the weekend, setting a fantastic three open club records from Alice Fender (400 free and 800 free) and Jack Christie (50 breast) and 14 age group records.  Alice and Georgia Purkis became the first girls at the club to break the 10 minute barrier for the long course 800 free.

Georia Purkis beat her own open record in the 800 free, only to see it taken from her by Alice Fender, but Georia still set three age group records, breaking her own records in the 400 and 800 free, as well as the 200 breast, a record last set in 2011.  In addition to her open records, Alice Fender set age group records in the 100 and 200 free, the latter a record last set in 2006.  Ashley Coombs set new records in the 50 and 100 free, the latter a record last set in 2008.  Shona McKenna set new records in the 50 free and 100 back, where Charlotte Hingston also broke the previous record.  Millie Herbert broke her own age group record in the 50 breaststroke, Keelin McKenna set a new record in the 50 back, Joe Coldwell a new record in the 200 breast, and Jack Christie, a new record in the 100 breast.
