Tough opposition for the Blue team
The Swimmers from Hemel Hempstead’s Blue team competed against very tough opposition in the first round of the Herts Peanuts League in Division 1. Hatfield finished in first place with Watford in second.
During the gala the Hemel team notched up and impressive 36 PB’s or new times.
A good effort by all, in particular notable swims from Isabelle Anderton who scooped first place in the girls U11 25m Freestyle and second places were claimed by Ashley Coombs - U12 50m Backstroke, Louis Armitage 9yr 25m Freestyle and Charles Rayner - U13 50m Free and 50m Fly.

Red team off to a flying start!
Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club’s Red Team got off to a flying start in Division Two of the first round of the Herts Peanuts League which consists of 3 rounds of galas aimed at swimmers 9–12 years old.
32 swimmers competed over 47 events including 30 individual races and 17 relays, the whole team pulled out a tremendous effort and notable swims came from Billie Grant, Ben Calder, Mael Jegu & Nathan Eastham who all won their individual races as well as Luke Carl & Adam Sawyer who came 2nd in their respective Fly & Backstroke races, gaining position by fighting hard all the way to the end of their races.

Hemel swimmers too fast!
Swimmers from Hemel Hempstead travelled to Leighton Buzzard for round three of the Chiltern League. They competed against Linslade, Leighton Buzzard, Witney, Henley and Dunstable. Hemel finished in 3rd place on the night.
A huge effort by all the swimmers achieving an impressive 43 PB’s or new times, in 12 of the 50 races our Hemel swimmers were too fast!
The Hemel team achieved 9 first, 9 second and 5 third place finishes.

Herts Major league - Round 3
Hemel’s swimmers competed in the third and final round of the Herts Major League in both Division 1 and Division 3.
In Division 3 Hemel were crowned winners of the league. Four members of the same family competed in the same team, Mark, Sophie, Ollie and Jamie Ayres. It was Ollie’s last gala as he has chosen to stop swimming to focus on his football.
